8. Do you have AKC titles on your breeding dogs?
Yes, many of our breeding dogs have AKC titles. We participate in many events and classes to achieve these titles. The AKC titles we attain are ones that show the dogs temperament, personality, fitness and obedience. Titles are Puppy STAR, Canine Good Citizens, Rally, Fit Dog, Trick Dog, Scent Work, Therapy Dog and Service Dog. We do not compete in confirmation shows, but many times we use outside sires that are Champions in the confirmation show ring to continue the typical Golden look/type.
9. Can we visit Heavenly?
Yes! We would love for you to come visit us. It is great for both parties to meet each other to make sure we are both comfortable with each other. You can visit our kennels or you can visit our Puppy Obedience and Socialization classes.
10. Do we do any health testing on the parents before breeding?
Definitely! We do all health screenings recommended by Golden Retriever Club of America and our local club Valle Del Sol Golden Retriever Club. Health screenings are DNA for hereditary disease risks, Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hips, elbows, heart done by a cardiologist and eyes done yearly. We typically do preliminary OFA’s and then always get final OFA’s after 2 years of age.
11. Do you have the “English Cream Goldens”?
Haha! We breed Golden Retrievers. Our puppies range from red to white and all shades in between. AKC registers Goldens as light, golden or dark. The term ‘English Cream” was used by other breeders to try to sell “rare white Goldens” which are definitely not rare. Our dogs have pedigrees from the Ukraine, UK, France, Spain and of course the US.
